Dean Markley Overlord III, Vox 830
Overdrive/booster, Marshall Blues breaker.
A Trio of favorites, the Overlord III was a
steal at £17 and has a great OTT driven sound.
The Vox 830 is also out of production, and
gives a more or less straight boost to drive the front of a
valve amp/preamp.
Marshall Blues breaker.
This pedal produced in the early 1990’s was
designed to emulate the “bluesbreaker” amp produced by
Marshall.
While I couldn’t say that the result is
anywhere near perfect, it does offer a gritty and useable
tone through a transistor/valve amp, one to pick up if you
come across it.
The other Marshall “Black box” series pedals
are also quite good.
